A Navy Band will join the Blue Angels and other members of the service in the Quad Cities this spring. Navy Week will be held the same week as the air show in May.
Lieutenant Commander Tim Page says the Quad Cities will be one of 12 places hosting a Navy Week celebration this year.
He says the Navy Band Great Lakes will perform throughout the week. And, local residents will see a variety of science and technology demonstrations by Navy personnel.
Page says sailors will also visit schools and the Putnam Museum, and help Habitat for Humanity.
Navy Week was also held in the Quad Cities in 2011. This year, it will be held May 4th through the 10th, with the Quad City Air Show on the 9th and 10th.
