The Westboro Baptist Church is coming to the Quad Cities this weekend, and local congregations have one response: ignore them. Churches United, the Quad Cities Association of Evangelicals, and the Interfaith Community met this week to to discuss Westboro's planned protests.
The church based in Kansas is known for protesting at the funerals of soldiers killed in combat.
Executive Director of Churches United Anne Wachal says protesting against Westboro would only encourage them.
Tomorrow through Sunday, the Westboro Baptist Church plans to protest at 10 churches in the Quad Cities, plus Davenport West High School.
