A local veteran and his family now have a new home, mortgage free. On Tuesday, Wells Fargo Bank and a non-profit called Operation Homefront gave Robert and Darlene Williams the keys to their new home in Bettendorf.
Spokeswoman AmiLee Santos says Operation Homefront is based in San Antonio, and provides a range of services to veterans. And since it was founded 3 years ago, it's helped more than 450 find homes.
It looks for financial stability, the need for a home, and connection to the area. And she says the Williams are a "perfect fit" for this program.

In 2012 Wells Fargo committed 35 million dollars to help veterans find housing, and since then has donated nearly 200 homes - to Operation Homefront and the Military Warriors Support Foundation.
