Arsenal Island to Lay Wreaths for Fallen Soldiers

Wreaths Across America

Fallen soldiers will be remembered in a ceremony on Arsenal Island this weekend. Dec. 13, the National Cemetery will participate in Wreaths Across America and lay wreaths on the headstones of veterans.
Wreaths Across America was started 21 years ago at Arlington National Cemetery by the Worcester Wreath Company from Harrington, Maine. Now, it's held annually on the second Saturday in December.
This year, wreaths will be placed in one-thousand different cemeteries. At the National Cemetery on Arsenal Island, live balsam remembrance wreaths will honor the thirty-two-thousand veterans buried there.
The Wreaths Across America ceremony begins at 11 am on Saturday.
