Tag the QC

Hoping to build community pride, the Young Professionals Network of the Quad Cities has started a new campaign.

It's called "tag the q-c," and network director Aiden Landman says all you have to do to participate is to take a picture of yourself, a selfie, in front of your favorite Quad Cities location. Then post it on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using the hashtag "#tagtheQC."

With the selfie, Landman also asks participants to say why they chose that location, and then challenge several friends to do the same.

He says the more people who participate, the more successful we'll be in telling the world about the Quad Cities.

A video explaining the campaign is available on YouTube and from the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce website.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
