Letters Home to Hero Street

A personal view of World War II, as told by a Quad Cities family, is the subject of a new documentary. "Letters Home to Hero Street" is a joint project of Fourth Wall Films and WQPT-tv, Quad Cities PBS.
Herb Trix reports.

The documentary is supported by the Illinois Arts Council, in addition to Fourth Wall Films and WQPT - Quad Cities PBS.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
