Shops in the Quad Cities are all set for tomorrow's (sat) fourth annual Small Business Saturday. Several businesses in the Village of East Davenport will participate in the shopping holiday by offering gifts and discounts for customers.
Begun four years ago, Small Business Saturday is a national effort to promote small business during the holidays.
Tammy Grady, the owner of Freddy's Fritters Dog Bakery, says she's seen an increase in customers each year on Small Business Saturday and that the annual event is one of the most successful days of the year in the East Village.
Grady says small businesses like Freddy's Fritters can't compete with larger stores on Black Friday, so Small Business Saturday gives her chance to earn a profit.
Freddy's Fritters will give away treats for customers and their dogs tomorrow (sat).
Other businesses in the Village of East Davenport participating in Small Business Saturday include Camp McClellan Cellars, The Soap Box, and Plaid Rabbit.
