Brown Bag Book Club is a traditional, casual-atmosphere discussion group that takes place during a late-lunch hour. Books are recently published adult fiction and nonfiction titles, as well as the occasional classic or backlist novel. It meets on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 1:00 pm at the Eastern Branch. Books can be signed out from the Eastern Branch on a first-come, first-serve basis.

In August we will read: The Quiet Librarian by Allen Eskens (2025) – All Iowa Reads 2026 — Hana Babic is a quiet middle-aged librarian in Minnesota who wants nothing more than to be left alone. But when a detective arrives with the news that her friend has been murdered, Hana knows that evil has come for her.
