Presidential Candidates Target Eastern Iowa

You won't have to go far to find a Democratic presidential candidate this weekend. Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, John Delany, and Tom Steyer all plan to visit eastern Iowa.

Warren plans to hold a town hall event in Clinton Saturday afternoon, followed by stops on Sunday in Ottumwa, Fairfield, and Keokuk, then Fort Madison, and Burlington on Monday.

Sanders will hold rallies in Burlington Saturday night, and in Keokuk and Ottumwa on Sunday. His Sunday schedule also includes holding batting practice in Burlington, to promote his effort to his effort to block Major League Baseball from eliminating any minor league teams, including the Burlington Bees, Clinton LumberKings, and Quad City River Bandits.

Former Maryland Congressman John Delany will attend a fundraiser for the Clinton County Democrats Saturday afternoon, and attend the Muscatine Democrats Achievement Dinner on Saturday night.

Tom Steyer will start with a meet and greet event in Muscatine Sunday morning, followed by an economic speech in Iowa City Monday morning, and a noon appearance at the Center for Active Seniors in Davenport.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
