Bill Connors Announces Bid for Re-Election

Bill Connors

A Bettendorf alderman has announced his bid for re-election. In March, Bill Connors won a special election to fill the 3rd Ward seat after the death of Alderwoman Debe LaMar. Now, he is trying to win his second election this calendar year.

He wants to ensure that Bettendorf's spending priorities reflect his constituents' values.

"First and foremost, you have to take care of basic city services, that's public safety, that's infrastructure. We still need to keep funding our park system because that's something that our citizens enjoy very much and value highly."

Connors is a 1972 graduate of Bettendorf High School and served as Chief Building Official and Community Development Director during his tenure as a city employee. He just retired last year.

Connors says he is the right person for the position because of his years of institutional knowledge of Bettendorf.

"I was a city employee for 21 years. I think I've got a good insight into where the city has been and where it needs to go. I think we need to basically listen to the citizens and that is what I intend to do and I have in my first four months as 3rd Ward Alderman."

The municipal election will be held on November 5th.
