William Ellis, of Moline, worked on Tha Come Up for three years before making it available on Google Play last month. He created the free game to highlight his love of music, games, and the Quad Cities hip-hop scene.

Ellis taught himself how to develop the mobile app and says Tha Come Up is similar to Mario Brothers. Tha Come Up's music is also original, composed by Shawn Mac.
