Miss. Valley Fair Announces 2019 Grandstand Shows

Country and rock bands will be the main entertainers at next year's Mississippi Valley Fair.

Tuesday General Manager Shawn Loter announced grandstand acts for the 100th anniversary of the fair.
The lineup includes Brad Paisley, Jake Owens, and Dan and Shay, plus the rock band Tesla. Acts for two other nights next summer have not yet been signed.

"Most of them we haven't had - that's kind of how I wanted to do it this year was to have entertainers we haven't had before - keep it fresh."

Loter says as soon as the fair closes each summer, he begins trying to find the entertainment for the next year. And he had to double his budget to sign acts for 2019.

Other entertainers and special events for the anniversary fair will be announced in the coming months.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
