Jazz pianist, composer, and arranger Lynne Arriale will perform with her trio at the Redstone Room at the River Music Experience (RME), on Sunday, May 20, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Accompanying her will be Matt Ulery on bass and Jon Deitemyer on drums. The performance is part of Polyrhythms' Third Sunday Jazz Workshop & Matinee Series.

She has been called "the poet laureate of her generation" by the Jazz Police, and very recently released her 14 th and latest album, Give Us These Days, on the Challenge Records label. Six of the songs are original compositions and three are arrangements.

Listen to the conversation here about the inspiration behind her latest work, her training as a classical musician prior to her transition to jazz, and her thoughts about the future of jazz as an educator at the University of North Florida.

An all-ages workshop will be held before the performance at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 20. It is free for youth participants and $5 for adults. Tickets to the performance at 6:00 p.m. cost $10 for general admission and $15 for reserved seats. They can be purchased by calling Polyrhythms at (309) 373-0790 or in person at the River Music Experience. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
