The Cancer Support Community Iowa & NW Illinois at Gilda's Club is offering a free four-week cancer survivorship series called Cancer Transitions.

The workshop series starts on Wednesday, September 4, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. It will continue every Wednesday, with the final workshop on September 25.

According to a press release, the workshop is designed to assist cancer survivors in transitioning from active treatments to post-treatment care. Every session includes exercises tailored to each participant's ability.

Before joining, people need to be out of treatment and willing to sign a program waiver reviewed by their physician.

The four sessions are titled:
- Get Back to Wellness: Take Control of Your Survivorship
- Emotions and Health
- Eating Well & Staying Active
- Medical Management Beyond Cancer: What You Need to Know

The workshops are funded by the UnityPoint Trinity Health Foundation.

Those interested can either call 563-326-7504, email qc@gildasclubqc.org or visit their website to contact the program team for a waiver.

The Cancer Support Community, along with Gilda's Club partners, assists those impacted by cancer by providing support and breaking down barriers to care. They are part of the largest employer of psychosocial oncology mental health professionals in the United States.
