Avelo Airlines will no longer provide flights to Las Vegas from Dubuque Airport, starting next year.

Avelo, a fairly new airline offering low cost flights to small airports, began its Dubuque-Las Vegas service in September. Only a couple months later, it announced it would discontinue the service in January, partly due to low demand.

Airport Director Todd Dalsing says Avelo's Orlando flight is still available.

"Those have been going on very well, you can book online through April. Those flights are on Wednesdays and Saturdays," he said. "And we also offer Sun Country destinational charters to Biloxi, Laughlin, and Atlantic City."

He says the airport will continue negotiating with airlines, including Avelo, to bring back air service to more destinations.

American Airlines ended its service at Dubuque Regional Airport in 2022.
