When he was 12, his family fled Nicaragua to escape the civil war, and settled in Galesburg. And he's led a foundation that's provided aid to refugees in Latin America, Spain, and Ukraine, plus helping needy families in western Illinois.
In his campaign announcement, Estrada said he's running for Congress to create financial security for families, build safer communities, and secure our borders. And that "failed policies in Washington are driving up the cost of living, closing off opportunities, and unleashing a violent crime wave."
