Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul, a Democrat, and his Republican counterpart in Indiana are leading the group to persuade senators and representatives to protect consumers, including farmers.

Raoul says 92% of voters agree owners should be able to choose where to repair their products.

Raoul says the attorneys general all signed a letter sent to Congress. It asks for re-consideration of three, right-to-repair bills. And he says the bipartisan group is serious about it.

The Illinois Attorney General says if those three bills become law, equipment owners will be able to fix their own products, or have them fixed by independent repair shops.
