Doug Cropper
Genesis Health System
Doug Cropper

The president and ceo of Genesis Health System has announced his retirement. Doug Cropper will leave in June and start a new job with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He and his wife, Lynne, will serve as mission leaders for one of the hundreds of missions sponsored by the church around the world. It'll be a three-year assignment.

Cropper has led Genesis for 14 years, but his career in health care began 41 years ago as a hospital orderly in Salt Lake City. Following administrative jobs in several states, he came to the Quad Cities in 2008.

The Genesis board of directors has chosen Chief Medical Officer Doctor Kurt Andersen to succeed Cropper.
