Last week, Peoria County Judge James Mack ruled the need for a temporary restraining order no longer exists. It blocked demolition during a long court battle.
Richard Brunk, the Chair of the Rock Island County Board, says the State Historic Preservation Office and the Illinois EPA approved a process called "recordation." That required the county to document the history of the building, part of a 2020 ruling by the Illinois Third District Appellate Court.
Brunk does not know when demolition might start.
