Key Races on Iowa Ballots

republican elephant and democratic donkey.jpg

After months and months of campaigning, and incredible numbers of television and social media ads, it's finally time for Iowa voters to make their decisions.

Herb Trix's guest is Erin Murphy, Des Moines Bureau Chief for the Cedar Rapids Gazette. And his work appears here in the Quad City Times, Dispatch-Argus, and Muscatine Journal.

You can also hear Midwest Week Fridays on WVIK at 6:20 pm during All Things Considered, or go to our website, wvik dot org.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
