Despite the pandemic, a Quad Cities restaurant has opened a second restaurant in Rock Island.

Bayside Bistro has already been serving home-style, original meals at its location in the Village of East Davenport (1105 Christie Street). Then late last year, co-owners LaTisha and Darryl Howlett decided to expand to 2704 18th Avenue in Rock Island (the former site of Godfather's Pizza.)

LaTisha Howlett says the Bayside Bistro menu features her original recipes, fresh foods, and no processed ingredients. The restaurant also serves food for vegans, vegetarians, and those with celiac disease.

Darryl Howlett says all employees are trained to prevent cross-contamination.

Bayside Bistro features six to seven vegan entrees, along with keto choices, gluten-free selections, and home-made sodas.

The menu also includes plenty of meat, such as "Meaty Beach Beef, Chicken, and Bacon" topped with avocado honey and siracha.

Bayside Bistro is also a catering company, and its smoothies are available at the Freight House Farmers Market in Davenport.
