New Local Business Journal To Launch Next Month

Quad Cities Regional Business Journal
Corridor Business

A company based in North Liberty will launch a new, local business journal next month.

Corridor Media Group will publish the "Quad Cities Regional Business Journal" every other week. And content will be available on its website.

Publisher John Lohman says the goal is to provide unbiased local and regional business news. He says the Quad Cities business community has a thirst for it.

"Its anything from the small entrepreneurial start up companies, to the big industries like Dear and everything in between. And then also getting our arms around the trends that are happening within the market and how national trends might be impacting local businesses."

The journal's newsroom will be led by former Quad-City Times Journalist Jennifer Dewitt. And the company is hiring reporters and freelancers.

The regional business journal will also produce podcasts and host business networking events.

"The events range from a kind of leadership training event called 90 ideas in 90 minutes. And then we will do a mid-year economic review event in the summer. And then we'll be doing a couple others including 40 under 40 sometime in the fall."

The website, "quad cities business journal dot com," will launch December first. A subscription costs 84 dollars a year.

The Corridor Media Group is owned by John and Aspen Lohman of North Liberty, Iowa. Mr. Lohman was recognized as Iowa's small Business person of the year in 2008. The group already publishes a business journal for Cedar Rapids and Iowa City.
