Today is National Public Garden Day, and the Quad City Botanical Center celebrated by dedicating a new garden and children's play-house.
Ami Jenkins, executive director of the center, says the new Woodland Garden includes over 30 different varieties of woodland shade plants, and the playhouse is a small cottage designed to help kids learn while they play.
The new Woodland Garden and Hobbit House were made possible through partnerships with the Quad Cities Builders and Remodelers Association and the Mississippi Valley Hosta Society, and the help of other donors and volunteers.
