Illinois State Police are still asking for help following a fatal accident over the weekend. The hit-and-run crash occurred on Saturday night on I-88 near Joslin, and troopers now believe they know what kind of car was involved.
Today their possible description is a 1999 through 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, or Silverado. It's missing the driver's side mirror and there'll be damage to the driver's side headlight. The color is not known.
Saturday about 7:30 pm, a 17 year old was walking on westbound I-88, near Joslin and mile marker 6 when he was hit by a car. The car then sped away. The name of the person killed has not been released. Anyone who might have witnessed the accident is asked to call state police headquarters in East Moline (309-752-4915).
