Friendship Manor Capital Drive

A senior community in the Quad Cities has just started the third and final year of a major capital campaign. Friendship Manor in Rock Island has raised 2 million dollars so far from major donors, residents, and employees, and now it's appealing to the public to raise one million more.

Development director, Jeff Condit, says it opened 33 years ago and needs some major upgrades.

About 300 people live at Friendship Manor in apartments, assisted living, and in the nursing facility. And he says it provides services to another 150 people each day - in rehabilitation services and at-home care. And even though the fund-raising campaign is not yet over, improvements are already being made.

He hopes Friendship Manor will reach its 3 million dollar goal by the end of next year (2013). It was founded in 1979 by the Illinois King's Daughters and Sons.
