She was one of four final candidates to replace Don Doucette who's retiring after 11 years.
Williams served in Korea in the US Air Force as a captain during Desert Storm, and Desert Shield. She also spent 3 years pursuing post doctoral studies at Yale School of Medicine.
At EICC she plans to reinforce the values of unity, diversity, equity, inclusion, and a sense of community. She also says she is committed to having the three campuses stand for two things, "Engaging, Inspiring, Committed to Community," and "Encouraging Innovative Collaborative Culture."
Around 200 people attended Thursday's board meeting including about 130 who tuned in over Zoom.
She starts her new role as chancellor for EICC on August 8th.
