Police were called about 5 am for a report of shots fired, and found a wounded man outside a home in the 100 block of 15th Avenue. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Learning that a suspect may have run into a home, officers surrounded it. Two hours later someone ran from the home but was captured soon afterwards.
Police say following questioning, 24 year old Zaccheus Hayes was charged with first degree murder and is being held in the county jail pending an initial court appearance Monday afternoon.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
