Quad Cities Will Hold National Drug Take Back Day

Drug Enforcement Administration

Prevention is the number one priority during National Drug Take Back Day.

In a partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration, on Saturday, several police departments around the Quad Cities will collect prescription medicine to safely dispose of.

National Drug Take Back Day allows people to safely dispose of drugs that otherwise might contaminate drinking water.

It's an anonymous drive-through or drop-off service. On Saturday, there are six locations. From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Rock Island County Justice Center, and the Police Departments in Milan, Colona, Moline, East Moline and Silvis will accept unwanted, expired or unused prescription medications.
