'Talking Art' with Ryan Collins

The Midwest Writing Center is offering an opportunity to have a locally affiliated poet or writer hand craft a poem for someone in your life.  Available through February 28, 2021, Bespoke Poems QC has a “pay what you want” policy, although the recommended minimum is $20 and tips are appreciated.  Simply fill out an on-line information form with details about the person(s) that you are commissioning a poem for, and the tailor-made poem will be sent in either digital form or via traditional mail service back to you.

For those wishing to have a poem created by Valentine’s Day, the deadline for information submission and payment is February 9, 2021.

Listen to the conversation here with Ryan Collins, Executive Director of the Midwest Writing Center, about the poets involved in this project, the numerous additional literary-based projects that they offer, and the importance of writing for all of us.

Located within the Rock Island Public Library, the Midwest Writing Center was founded in 1979 by David R Collins and Evelyn Witters.

Carolyn Martin joined WVIK as a host of Talking Art in 2017. A long-time fan of NPR programming with a love of storytelling and all art forms, she is thrilled to have the opportunity to speak with creative people who beautify our community and make the Quad Cities region an even better place to live.
