The Rock Island County and Scott County Recorder's Office are introducing a Property Fraud Alert (PFA) online platform for property owners, real estate agents and title companies to monitor real-time alerts about their properties.
The application can notify individuals by email, phone or text whenever their selected properties are marked for suspicious activity.
Rock Island County Recorder Kelly Fisher and Scott County Recorder Rita Vargas say in a joint statement, "Our mission is to provide peace of mind to property owners by equipping them with tools needed to detect and respond to potential fraud swiftly. Protecting homeowners is crucial and our platform aims to be a proactive ally in safeguarding real estate investments, and we are thrilled to be able to offer the service to the entire QCA.”
PFA is currently offered by 71 Illinois and 10 Iowa county recorders as a free service.
