Today's headlines:

  • a Galesburg man is suspected of Sunday's fatal shooting outside a downtown Galesburg bar,
  • the new contract for BHC includes higher pay and higher health insurance costs,
  • and a new I-74 bridge is not the only project going on in downtown Bettendorf.

It should be sunny today, with a high near 38 and gusty west winds.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
