Evening News for Wednesday, November 8, 2017

tonight's headlines:

  • for the first time in more than 50 years, Deere prepares to sell tractors to Cuba,
  • business leaders in Davenport hope to save a key tax credit that's helped re-develop downtown,
  • and the Illinois governor wins a battle with the legislature over right-to-work.

the forecast for tonight: increasing cloudiness, with a low near 30. Sunny on Thursday, high 38.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
