Thursday the Illinois Labor Relations Board will consider a complaint against Rock Island County. The union representing workers at the former Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline accuses the county of unfair labor practices for its sale to Infinity Health Care that closed last week.
A spokesman for the board says the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, AFSCME, believes the potential impact on employees should have been negotiated before the sale was approved.
The labor board's executive director recommended dismissing the union's complaint, and at Thursday's meeting the board could agree, or decide the unfair labor practices charge should be heard by an administrative law judge.
The sale affected about 200 jobs at the nursing home.
