Detours in Downtown Davenport

A busy intersection in downtown Davenport will be closed on Thursday. Brady Street between Second and Third streets will be closed to all traffic, all day, for water main repairs.

The city says the repairs should be completed by the end of the day.

Iowa-American Water Company will notify property owners because their water service will be turned off.
The River Center parking ramp will still be accessible from Second Street.

Then on Monday, installation of a storm water pipe will require the closing of Second Street, west of Brady Street. This project should take one week to finish (4/22).

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
