Iowa Senate District 45

Some local residents will go to the polls one more time this year. A special election will be held Tuesday in Iowa State Senate District 45 following the death of Joe Seng in September.

Democrats chose state representative Jim Lykam while Scott County republicans selected Michael Gonzales - he lives in Davenport but is a  sergeant for the LeClaire Police Department.

Currently the Iowa senate has 29 republicans, 19 democrats, and one independent.

District 45 includes west and southwest Davenport, and extends along the river through Buffalo to the Muscatine County line.

Polls will be open Tuesday from 7 am until 9 pm.
