A 27 year veteran of the Davenport Police Department will be its next chief. Tuesday, interim city administrator Corri Spiegel announced the appointment of Paul Sikorski, pending approval by the Civil Service Commission.
He has served as interim chief since last July, and was one of two finalists for the job - the other was Lazaro Perez, retired chief from West Chicago, Illinois.
Sikorski was appointed assistant chief last March after serving as commander of the Patrol Division. He's also led the Services Division and worked as a supervisor in the Criminal Investigation Division.
The Davenport Civil Service Commission is scheduled to meet tomorrow.
