The Scott County Board plans to hire a search firm to find a new administrator. Last night, the supervisors voted to send out a request for proposals and bids. Just last week, current Administrator, Dee Bruemmer, announced she plans to retire next year.
Mary Thee, the county's Human Resources Director, says the other option was for staff to conduct the search.
She hopes search firms respond quickly so the Scott County supervisors can select a company in mid-January. She thinks the bids will range from 20- to 30-thousand dollars.
Bruemmer says she'll step down in the spring. A new administrator could be on the job in May, but Thee says June is probably more realistic.
