Congressman Dave Loebsack will visit a Quad Cities manufacturer today to kick off his new, "Made in the USA Tour." This afternoon, he plans to talk with company officials and employees at Sivyer Steel in Bettendorf.
The Mount Vernon democrat says it's time to bring jobs back from overseas. To get the process started, he wants to develop a national manufacturing strategy.
Last year, part of one of Loebsack's bills called "SECTORS" made it into plans to develop the workforce system. It helps companies ensure that local residents get the training they need to be hired.
Loebsack plans to visit Keokuk and Burlington tomorrow as part of the Made in the USA Tour. His scheduled trip to Bandag in Muscatine today was postponed.
