Campaigning Begins for Iowa School Boards

Davenport School District

This is the first week residents of Iowa can file to run for school board- and one of the first in the Quad Cities will kick-off his campaign tonight. Dan Gosa will formally announce his candidacy for Davenport School Board, at the Dugout Sports Complex in Davenport.
Gosa is a life-long resident of Davenport, and serves as Labor Representative on the Executive Board of United Way.

He's hoping to fill one of the four seats that will be on the ballot in September. Current  board members Nikki DeFauw  and Ken Krumwiede  have announced they will not run for re-election.
Linda Hayes was elected earlier this year to fill an un-expired term, and is expected to run for a full term. President Ralph Johanson has not yet announced if he will run for re-election. Each seat is for a four year term.

Gosa's "Stronger Together" campaign focuses on increasing school funding, higher graduation rates, and improving athletic programs.

The filing period for Iowa school boards ends July 30th, and the elections will be held across Iowa on September 8th.
