Walk-In Rental Assistance

Help is available for residents of the Quad Cities facing eviction. Humility Homes and Services will hold a "Rental Assistance Walk-In Event" on Tuesday, with money available on a first come - first served basis.

Executive Director Ashley Velez says they'll have 25,000 dollars to hand out, with the money coming from the Scott County Regional Authority.

"The eviction moratorium is up come June 30th in Iowa and I believe it's July 31st for Illinois. There are evictions already filed for people so we believe the need is high, we just can't give an exact number."

To apply for help, she says bring a photo ID, a copy of the lease, a notice from the landlord listing how much is owed by the tenant, and contact information for the landlord.

The event opens at 9 am Tuesday, at 525 Fillmore Street in Davenport, and will continue as long as money is available.
