Worried about the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases in the city and the Quad Cities, Davenport Mayor Mike Matson has issued an executive order. Effective immediately, city staff and people visiting city facilities must wear masks, and attendance is limited to ten people at public meetings.
He's especially worried because colder weather means people will be spending more time inside at a time when community spread of the virus is surging - in Davenport, Scott County, and the Quad Cities.
Also effective immediately, the city will return to virtual meetings and limiting access to city facilities.
His order is in effect until November 30th.
