Get Out of the Heat at Rescue Mission in RI

A local agency will open its doors to people to cool off this weekend and this summer. Christian Care says its Rescue Mission at 2209 3rd Avenue, Rock Island is open daily from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. The organization also serves meals.

The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities says, "It will be hot and rather humid today with afternoon and early evening heat index readings in the mid to upper 90's." Then hot and humid conditions will continue tomorrow afternoon with heat index values ranging from the lower 90's to around 100 degrees. Sunday may also be hot and humid.

Other places to cool off include township halls, libraries, senior centers, and malls.

The Rescue Mission's phone number is (309)786-5734.
