Holiday Train to Stop in Quad Cities Area

A brightly decorated train will spread Christmas cheer in the Quad Cities. On Friday, the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will stop in Davenport to collect donations for local food banks.

Spokesman Andy Cummings says the train is crossing North America this month, making 150 stops. Different musicians perform at each stop, and non-perishable food and cash donations are accepted.
Donations collected at the Davenport stop will benefit the Hunger Program of Churches United of the Quad City Area.
He says the Holiday Train has traveled across the US and Canada every year since 1999. And, it's raised nine-point-five-million-dollars and three-million-pounds of food.

Cummings says some people come out just to see the train's elaborate decorations.

Country singer, Kira Isabella, will perform at the Davenport stop, at the corner of Western Avenue and West River Drive, at 2 pm.
