Dem. Pres. Candidates Head for the QC

Suddenly, the Quad Cities is the place to be for Democratic presidential candidates. Four of them will stop here this week, starting with former Vice President Joe Biden Wednesday afternoon.

Biden will hold a rally at the River Center in downtown Davenport at 4 pm, and according to his campaign, "lay out his vision for America."

He'll be followed on Thursday by California US Senator Kamala Harris who's scheduled to host a town hall style event Thursday evening at Saint Ambrose University. It's the latest event for presidential candidates hosted by the university and the Quad City Times. It starts at 5:45 pm.

The parade of candidates continues on Friday when Minnesota US Senator Amy Klobuchar and Julian Castro visit Davenport. She will hold a town hall style event at 5:30 pm with Iowa State Representative Cindy Winckler - the location is still to be determined. And Castro will headline another Quad City Times - Saint Ambrose candidates event at 7 pm.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
