The Quad Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau and area performance groups have designated April as Quad Cities Live Month. The celebration will feature concerts, plays, dance and comedy shows across the Quad Cities.WVIK Morning Edition Producer Lacy Scarmana is interviewing members of performance venues to talk about events they're hosting. These conversations will air every Friday in April during Morning Edition.

QCCVB Dedicates April to Live Entertainment

Live entertainment is the focus this month in the Quad Cities. For the first time, the Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Burreau has partnered with local performing arts groups and venues to make April "Quad Cities Live Month."

Charlotte Doehler-Morrison, vice president of marketing and communications, says more than one hundred live events will take place this month.
 
Performing arts include comedy and theatre shows, musicals, dance and ballet, symphonies, concerts, and more.


The website for Quad Cities Live Month has an schedule of every performance. Some events have the letter 'E' that stands for 'Everyone,' to promote family-friendly events.

Doehler-Morrison says the website been viewed more than 2,000 times already--most come from people in Davenport and Moline, but Chicago is third for online traffic.
