That means Dubuque flights to and from Orlando will not be scheduled between early April and November. Avelo says changes in demand, crew levels, and maintenance schedules factored into the decision.
It hasn't even been a year since the low-cost airline began offering flights from Dubuque to Orlando. Avelo started the flights last March. This schedule change follows last month's announcement that the airline would stop its Dubuque to Las Vegas flights after only three months.
Airport Manager Todd Dalsing says local leaders will continue to recruit more airlines to Dubuque. The Community Air Service Task Force and chamber of commerce plan to host a forum about it next month (February 22nd, 2024).
American Airlines stopped serving the Dubuque airport in September, 2022, leaving the city without commercial air service by a major airline.
