Nature's Treatment of Illinois is expanding its Galesburg location to cultivate and infuse cannabis products on site.

Nature's Treatment of Illinois will begin cultivating and infusing cannabis projects on site.

A Galesburg dispensary has plans to grow.

Nature’s Treatment of Illinois will build an addition to its Galesburg location where it will begin cultivating and infusing adult-use cannabis.

The project is expected to cost $3.5 to $4 million and create up to 30 full-time jobs in Galesburg, according to a release from the Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development.

“NTI has been a great addition to the area’s business community and we are happy to see them expanding their footprint and adding jobs in Galesburg,” said Ken Springer, President of the Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development.

The company offers health insurance and a 401k match to all full-time employees.

NTI opened its Galesburg location in the former Aldi grocery store at 735 W. Main St. in 2020, and now plans to add 10,000 square feet to the building.

The project also will utilize 8,600 square feet of space on the north side of the building that is currently unused.

The expansion will allow NTI to create cannabis-related projects on-site and enhance offerings both in Galesburg and at the company’s other location in Milan.

NTI was awarded a cannabis cultivation license from the state this summer.

In 2019, Galesburg was one of the first Illinois communities to approve zoning for the newly created statewide legal cannabis market, which led to interest from dispensary operators.

“NTI has long wanted to get into the craft cannabis cultivation market and that day has finally come. Galesburg has been a great fit for us since opening our second store there in 2020,” said NTI owner Trent Jacquin.
