This week, save lives and support local humane societies for the Quad Cities Pints and Paws Blood Drive

This week, on July 11th and 12th, the Red Cross is teaming up with local human societies for the Quad Cities Pints and Paws Blood Drive. Eligible donors are invited to donate blood while also meeting adoptable pets at the site.

The Red Cross will team up with four local human societies, the QC Paws, the Quad Cities Animal Welfare Center, the Humane Society of Scott County, and King’s Harvest Pet Rescue.

Pints and Paws aims to help both animals and people. The event raises money and awareness for the animals in the shelters while also giving blood to patients in need.

Gwen Bartoluzzi, account manager, says the event is beneficial to both people and animals. “When you come out to support Pints and Paws, you’re not only supporting, you know, patients in need, but you’re also supporting the local humane societies.”

The event is held at four different locations. On the 11th, it will be located at the American Red Cross of the Quad Cities Chapter and the Davenport Public Library from noon to 6 p.m., and on the 12th, it will be at the MLK Center and the Isle of Capri from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Each donor will get a Red Cross Umbrella and a Red Cross Pet Bandana while supplies last. In addition to the offerings, a $10 donation will be made to one of the sponsoring humane societies in the Quad Cities.
