This summer, Spring Forward's Summer Enrichment Camps will teach more than five hundred students about the importance of our local Mississippi River. The theme for the camp is “Our River”, which is designed to educate and inspire students about the significance of the river's ecosystem.
Spring Forward will teach first through sixth grade about protecting the environment while giving students a sense of responsibility, at the same time as maintaining a fun environment. Certified teachers develop a curriculum to focus on what students want to learn. They will not only go over math and reading, but go on field trips and activities led by the camp's partners which include the Figge, Putnam Museum, Ballet Quad Cities, and more.

Robert McIntyre, Executive Director of Spring Forward, says that the summer camp creates a fun, unique learning environment."We just try to offer as many different things as we can and think of as many different things as possible that students may have never done before."
Spring Forward combines academics with fun to create a summer learning program. The five week long camp runs Monday through Thursday, with field trips on Friday, aiming to fill the learning gaps and give children a new set of skills to prepare them for the school year.
