The Putnam Museum and Science Center announced their new President and CEO. After following a national search, the museum is pleased to announce they've appointed Cindy Diehl Yang to be their new President and CEO.
Cindy will be replacing Rachael Mullins, who has served as President and CEO since 2019 and retired just earlier this year. Cindy will begin her role right after the Fourth of July holiday.
Cindy says that she's excited to take on the position and everything it has to offer. “[Putnam Museum and Science Center] is my next step. This is the place that has that hidden gem that we need to polish and unhide.”
Cindy has over twenty years of leadership experience in non-profit organizations and eighteen years of experience in executive leadership. She has a Master of the Arts degree in interdisciplinary arts non-profit leadership from Columbia College in Chicago. She's served on many boards and committees including the American Alliance of Museums, Hawkeye Community College Foundation Board, and more.
Cindy has many goals for the Putnam museum, including updating the current galleries and building within the community. She’s honored to have been selected for the next phase of the Putnam Museum and thrilled to set it into its next stage of growth and its strategic plan.
